Job Overview:

A Mobile App Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and basic testing of code written to enhance and maintain one or more of the mobile products of HotSchedules. The engineer must be self-motivated, and able to multi-task based on the current priority of projects in development.  Mobile engineers must have good knowledge of appropriate APIs for Android/iOS and know good practices for developing native applications.

Requirements

Job Requirements - Only Austin based candidates will be considered

  • Develop iOS or Android applications in Objective-C or Java
  • Develop REST services in Java Apache CXF
  • Write unit tests for mobile code and server side Java
  • Participate in the SCRUM process for development Sprints and Daily Stand-ups.
  • Debug critical application issues including crashes, memory leaks or concurrency problems.
  • Develop high performance SQL DDL and DML statements.
  • Perform code reviews for other team members.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent problem solving skills.
  • 3+ years developing native mobile applications
  • Contributed to at least one application that has been a mobile product offering
  • iOS/Objective-C or Android/Java experience
  • RESTful services
  • Tomcat
  • Experience with web services REST, Eclipse, SVN
  • SQL
  • Profilers for Android or iOS applications
